ESP Enterprise Support Professionals Inc, a “Best-In-Class” professional Mental Healthcare Consulting Services organization seeks an experienced & certified, licensed, and insured MENTAL HEALTH ASSESMENT COORDINATOR CONSULTANT.
Scope of Services: Role of Mental Health Assessment Coordinator: To meet the needs of client’s Mental Health Evaluation Program, as well as client’s overall mental health-related work, client seeks the assistance of a Mental Health Assessment Coordinator to perform the following functions: 1. Provide technical assistance and support to staff and on-site consultants (when available) around the appropriateness of mental health evaluation referrals 2. Provide technical assistance to community providers in order to improve the value and specificity of the evaluation reports 3. Consult with client staff around individual cases and developing appropriate treatment recommendations 4. Develop and conduct comprehensive trainings for client staff, covering the purpose and content of psychiatric and psychological evaluations; and how to complete a referral for mental health evaluations 5. Provide assistance to client line staff, if needed, with follow-up to the recommendations made in the mental health evaluation reports 6. Participate in case conferences for children with complex psychological needs 7. Assist with other mental health-related programs and activities as requested
The Mental Health Assessment Coordinator’s performance will be evaluated based on documentation of trainings and technical assistance provided. This documentation will be submitted on a monthly basis.
Required minimum technical qualifications: The consultant should have an LCSW in clinical social work or Ph.D. in clinical psychology (or equivalent degree) and extensive knowledge of mental health evaluations. Specifically, he/she should be familiar with tests and measures frequently bused to assess mental status, intelligence, personality, and socio-emotional functioning in children and adults, as well as parenting skills and abilities, with particular attention to the mental health issues prevalent in the child welfare population. He/she should also be familiar with DSM-IV diagnoses and diagnostic criteria. It is preferred that the consultant has experience with forensic evaluations and the court system, as well as familiarity with the workings of the New York City child welfare system and with other services and evaluation resources available in the community. Finally, the consultant should have good communication skills and feel comfortable consulting both with line staff (who have limited mental health experience) and with other mental health professionals.
Terms: 1. The consultant is expected to work minimum of 16-hours per week or maximum 20-hours per week, preferably in the mornings, preferably over the course of 4-days per week, on-site in Manhattan. At client’s discretion, they may consider more than a 20-hour commitment 2. The contract will begin soon-after 10/6/10 and will conclude no-later than 6/30/2011
