A small growing medical instrumentation firm, located in San Diego, CA, with more than 20 years experience developing cryogenic systems, which primarily measure the electromagnetic signals produced by the human body for purposes of medical research and potential clinical diagnosis and treatment management, is seeking a hands-on, versatile mechanical engineer to join its team.
Responsibilities will include helping define product requirements from customer input, participating in overall system design, detailed design of project elements as assigned, design reviews, involvement with parts procurement and fabrication, and system assembly, test, and, in some cases, installation at customer site.
Successful candidate will learn proprietary Company technologies and methods, including cryogenic refrigeration, ultra-sensitive magnetic measurement methods, and data acquisition and processes.
Requires a BSME and 2-5 years of applicable experience in related fields. Working expertise in Solidworks, including engineering analysis in support of proposed solutions, is essential. Examples of recent work product will be evaluated.
Requires demonstrated ability to manage projects and meet schedule commitments, including compliance to Company documentation requirements. Experience working as an integral part of small teams in a highly fluid and changing environment is desired.
