Show up and present us with whatever talent you think is worthy of our show! Any type of art form is encouraged, but you must perform SOMETHING for us, even if it’s not exactly what you would do in the show.

4.48 PSYCHOSIS Auditions will consist of:
- One contemporary dramatic monologue (1-2 minutes)
- One a capella contemporary song that properly displays your vocal range (approx. 1 minute)
If you do not have a monologue, one will be provided for you to read. However, it is REQUIRED that you come in with a song; if you do not, it may seriously affect your chances of being cast.

Contact Tashina Richardson if you’d like to set an audition time. Appointments aren't necessary but please show up no later than 9:40pm.

4.48 PSYCHOSIS SYNOPSIS
4.48 Psychosis is written from the point of view of someone with severe clinical depression, and contemplation and discussion of suicide is prominent. A patient discusses her life and feelings with a new doctor while also recounting past experiences with a lover and other doctors. As her past and present begin to overlap, she realizes her only moments of clarity are at 4:48 in the morning. Will the patient be able to overcome her depression, or is she doomed?

4.48 PSYCHOSIS CASTING
Patient: lead female, dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts (soprano voice)
Doctor: lead male, dealing with Patient’s issues in the present (preferably tenor voice, although baritone may work)
Voices (2): female, representing the inner turmoil and past experience of Patient (mezzo to soprano voice)
Others (4): non-gender specific, representing different people in Patient’s past (varied voice ranges)
NOTE – Every part will be onstage for the entire production. Stamina and constant dedication are key to casting.
