<> This position is offered through the Albany Branch. As a member of management the Assistant Site Director would help oversee and administer the day to day operation of the K-3rd grade program. This position reports to the Site Director of the Solano Center Kids' Club. This position is part time 28 hours a week. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Assistant Site Director works closely with the Program Site Director and is responsible for the direct supervision and program administration of a after school K-3 grade site. Responsibilities include the proper supervision of children, meeting or exceeding licensing requirements, staff supervision, development and planning of recreational and educational activities which support children’s learning and promote self-esteem, parent communication and involvement, opening and closing the center, and smooth operation of the child care site

-Manage or assist with the day-to-day operation of program site.

-Supervision of the after school program and staff

-Development and implementation of daily program activities and special events.

-High level of interaction with kids, parents, staff and school community.

-Set a good example for kids and staff in overall presentation of program and self, including punctuality, cleanliness, sharing responsibilities, sportsmanship and respectful behavior toward kids, parents, staff, members, and community.
KNOW HOW-JOB REQUIREMENTS Prefer AA or AS degree in Early Childhood Development or an alternative which satisfies the requirements described in Title 22: • Any bachelor’s degree or AA plus 3 units Administration, plus 3 units of ECE, plus 1 year experience (BA) or (2 yrs AA) OR • 3 units in Administration plus 3 units ECE, Child Development or School Age Child, plus 9 units in any of the following areas: o recreation, physical education, human service, social welfare, nursing, psychology, sociology, or home economics. Any units earned toward elementary or middle school teaching credential, and ECE, child development, or school age classes, plus 4 years experience. • 15 hour CPR/First Aid Health and Safety course All staff shall be emotionally stable, mature persons of good character with the ability and intention of meeting the physical, mental, emotional and social needs of the children in care. Must be at least 21 years of age, obtain TB clearance, pre-employment physical examination, Live Scan clearance or fingerprint submission to Department of Justice, FBI and request for Child Abuse Index, CPR/First Aid within time requested by Program Director. Copies of all transcripts and proof of work experience must be submitted to Program Director. Must meet all health, experience, and education requirements as provided for under Title 22 sections 101251(h)(1)(B), 101215.1 (h)(1), 101515
• Clear TB and DOJ background check are required prior to hiring.
• Need to be certified in Community CPR & First Aid and the 7 hour Health & Safety course • Physical fitness with the ability to carry and lift up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to bend, sit, stand, squat, and change position quickly and frequently (i.e. from sitting to standing)
• Attend all required safety training sessions.
• Prepare for and actively participate in staff trainings and meetings.
• Share set-up and clean-up duties with other staff in a fair and equitable manner.
• Provide first aid, and exercise sound judgment in calling for medical help.
