The PAVE Program, Specialized Training Of Military Parents (STOMP), is seeking an energetic team player to serve in the position of Parent Education Coordinator. This non-exempt position reports to the Associate Director. This is a part-time position (32 hours per week); Monday through Friday; occasional evening and/or weekend hours and some out-of-state travel required. The STOMP Parent Education Coordinator (PEC) is responsible for providing training on a variety of topics of concern to military families who have a family member with disabilities. The training modules include Laws and Rights/Responsibilities, Record Keeping, Permanent Change of Station (PCS) issues, TRICARE and TRICARE ECHO, Communication, and networking as well as other topics. The position also requires the individual to work in a positive and supportive way on a 1:1 basis.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Requires a high degree of computer proficiency Working with diverse populations Flexibility and reliability to multi-task and meet deadlines; strong ability to prioritize Ability to plan and work independently while maintaining a strong team ethic Valid Passport and WA State drivers license, car, and insurance for light travel (mileage reimbursable) Works independently as well as in a variety of groups Good communication skills in person, by phone and in writing
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to present in front of large and small groups Strong computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to develop effective training materials, articles and other materials Researching, creating and updating web content Community relations and/or demonstrated ability to network, collaborate and build partnerships
Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of special education laws for both Department of Education (DOE) systems and Department of Defense (DOD) Systems Knowledge of military systems, TRICARE and DODEA. Personal experience within the military system with a family member who is disabled

Salary Range: 80 FTE of $ 22,000 - $ 26,000 This position does require some out-of-state travel and some evening and weekend work. We are seeking a person who has the ability to present in front of an audience. Individuals with demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to team with other staff members will be strongly considered.
