Hello there, my name is Guy James, im 18 and I'm currently stuidying music fulltime at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. I've been playing for about 5 years now and I have had three students since.

I study JAZZ/BLUES/BLUEGRASS/ROCK and as of late CLASSICAL styles.

My philosophy on becoming a great musician is simple. Practice, Patience, and Experience. With practice you will begin seeing results and with patience you will develop into the player you imagine yourself being and with experience your practice and patience will actually mean something and become apparant in your performance. I stress this because for beginners even to advanced players these points can be hard to live up too.

I find the best teachers have a good balance between teaching the student what He or She wants to learn and what the teacher knows the student must learn. There are alot of foolosh things being tought out there by phony guitar instructors and I want to help you with taking a step in the right direction.

Things I will teach
- Good Practice habits. (What a good day of practice would consist of)
- Fundamental to advanced music theary.
- Technique (Chords, Scales, Tiads, Arpeggios)
- Rythym (I put this seperate because its a widely over looked aspect of playing)
- Reading notation and chord charts.
- Composing and Arranging original music.
- Open mindedness (This is important for anyone interested in jamming with random people)
- IMPROVIZATION (This is what I do best)
- Performance techniques (Breathing, Warming up, stage presence)

Well Hopefully this all means something to you and your interested because I guarantee you will be happy taking lessons with me. You need the practice and I need the teaching experience so lets help eachother out.

My price is 20$ an hour if your in or 5 miles out of town and 30$ an hour if your more than two gallons of gas away. Ill come to you but, coming to me is also an option and would thus be 20$ an Hour. Just for comforts sake to Im offering to do a 10$ half-hour first time lesson to help you decide if im right for you.

Thankyou for your time if you've made it this far and i hope well talk soon.
