My husband and I have completely renovated this home over the past two summers (we've been in Ecuador winters). It has new windows, doors, a high efficiency gas heating system and much more. The home is at the end of a quiet, dead end, road with only one house beyond it (on 225 acres - Harvard Professor and wife - up on weekends). There is total privacy, peace, quiet and great neighbors (who you can't see or hear). You have the ability to grow anything you want to in new cedar raised beds, and plenty of room for animals - horse, cow, you name it - with a field cleared and planted with feed quality hay, no chemicals used. Hundreds of acres of trails to hike (or ride) literally outside your door make it seem much more than five and half acres.

Ranch style home, with sheetrock walls, bamboo flooring, maple kitchen, etc. The exterior is designed to be low maintenance, with new Harvey low E vinyl windows and high quality vinyl siding (going on as I write this).

The home is 5 minutes to one small town with services, and 10 minutes to a larger town with shopping, restaurants, Home Depot, Lowes, and the usual strip mall contingent. So it is private and "in the country," without being isolated and inaccessible. I-93 to I-89 and you're here in about two hours from the Boston area.

I love this place, but my husband wants to return to Cuenca, Ecuador. So someone else will enjoy the fruits of our labor. Furnishings and accessories are negotiable - all is very nicely done.

If you are seriously thinking about self sufficiency and safety, this may well be the place for you. With all we have put into this property - and the fact that it is "new again," our price is not very flexible. But we will include lots of added value, like the riding mower and some tools to get you started off. Perhaps even the Chevy pick up...for those trips to the garden supply store.

We're happy to send a link to our shutterfly site for photos once we know you're seriously interested.

Thank you for reading! Mary Ann
