This September 11th, dedicate a year of service to Everybody Wins! Iowa, in honor of a soldier. The mission of the 9/11 National Day of Service is to honor the victims of 9/11 and those who rose to service in response to the attacks by encouraging all Americans and others throughout the world to pledge to voluntarily perform at least one good deed, or another service activity on 9/11 each year.
This September 11th, dedicate a year to children’s literacy in honor of a soldier through Everybody Wins! Iowa. Everybody Wins! Iowa matches elementary school students with volunteer reading mentors from local businesses, corporations and community organizations to read aloud one-to-one for one hour, once a week to children. The volunteer reading mentor promotes the joy of reading and serves as a caring adult role model. Children build academic confidence and enhance their overall positive self-esteem. The volunteers, their company or organization, the schools, and the students benefit, which creates a better community for central Iowa.
