Some of the final instructions that Jesus’ gave to His disciples were, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28.
Jesus commanded His disciples to go tell others about Him, share the good news with them, establish them in a relationship with God and show them how to do the same with others. This teaching and vision has traveled from Jesus, to the first disciples, throughout the world and has now come to me through the opportunity to participate in the World Race, a mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months, beginning in October 2010.
Starting with Guatemala then Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, and ending in a country thats needs so much love India. Its a mouth full, and a year full.
Within the World Race everyone is placed into teams of 5-7 people. We're blessed with 7 and we're the rowdies 7 possible. To introduce them we have the married couple Dustin and Traci, Steph, Jessica, Erica, Julie, and myself. An anxious group.
When discovering the World Race in July, I knew immediately that this is where God needs me. On the World Race, everyday will look a little different. Days will be packed full with construction, bible schools, building relationships with orphans, and praying for the sick at hospitals. Other days will be spent praying for the community we’re apart of and backpacking through the country. No matter the task, it will be focused on being centered in God's work and expanding His Kingdom with love.
A great benefit of this trip, is that my supporters will be able to join me, through my online blog. I’ll be posting stories and pictures every week the entire length of the trip. If you’d like to check it out there’s a brief description of my life and an intro blog.
During this trip, I will be discipled and trained in various areas of ministry and missions. I will also have the opportunity to minister to people who have never heard the Gospel before. Where people are aching with hunger for the gospel. I am incredibly excited and grateful that God has called me to this trip and trust Him to provide for me. Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. I would be honored if you could partner financially and prayerfully with me in this ministry. I am specifically asking for five people who will commit to pray for me each day until I return in September 2011. Also, I must raise $14,300 for the year. If just forty people would support me $25 per month or $275, it will raise enough to fund the entire trip. This will cover travel, food, housing, and basic living needs on the field. Donations can be made online. Please email me with any questions.
