POSITION SUMMARY
Provides technical support for the molding operations including preparation, set-up and troubleshooting of machines and secondary operations.

JOB DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Demonstrates understanding of all set-up procedures and all basic molding machine functions.
Monitors press cycle to ensure that presses are running to routing standards.
Initiates corrective action for jobs running out of standard cycle.
Demonstrates ability to set limit switches, timers, and process controls on presses.
Demonstrates ability to clean screws, barrels and stuffer units.
Sets-up straight forward open and closed molds as well as more complex molds with multiple core pulls, auxiliary hydraulics and manifolds.
Sets-up other related secondary equipment that applies to the job, such as vacuum pumps and various temperature control units (steam, electric, water).
Sets-up, starts and troubleshoots presses using established process control methods.
Performs basic maintenance duties including changing fuses, fixing minor leaks, etc.
Changes end of arm tooling and loads robot program into press.
Demonstrates ability to do basic robotic troubleshooting on end of arm tooling.
Ability to interpret inspection and plans and measure parts at start-up.
Performs periodic inspection rounds as needed.
Demonstrates understanding of the fundamentals of RJG E-dart and dielectric cure monitoring and control.
Demonstrates ability to do basic troubleshooting of secondary operation equipment.
Relocates material and parts to the warehouse using hand cart and / or forklift.
Performs material handling duties in a back-up capacity as required.
Returns shop packet and other related materials to the production office when jobs are completed.
Completes cleanup duties and returning supplies to the proper location.
Completes material handling duties as necessary.
Runs presses as needed.
Serves as a member of a special project team or attend training sessions as required.
Completes classes on materials, SPC and basic processing skills as required.
Follows all plant safety protocol.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Extensive knowledge of Plant (1) set-up procedures and the ability to start and troubleshoot most thermoset jobs. Knowledge of all press controllers and have basic ability to set and start-up robots and other auxiliary equipment. Experienced with the basic types of thermosetting materials and to be able to troubleshoot the various materials in the plant. Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate efficiently with various departments company wide.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
At least three years related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

TRAINING REQUIRED
Certified forklift training, hazard communication training and manufacturing bar code software training.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Tools/equipment used: utility knife, razor knife, nippers, swivel knife, broachers, drills, inserts, grinders, saws, air hoses, cooling fixtures, magnifying glass, insert fixtures, gauges, milling machines, wrenches, pyrometers, and pneumatic tools.
