Local General Manager Job Description
General Purpose This position is responsible for the sales and distribution of frozen food products within an assigned territory.
Duties and Responsibilities • Sales of approximately $2 to $6 million per year determined by an annual budgeting process • Assure a team of Customer Service Managers maintain a system of routes that provide for regular servicing at residential homes or places of business to sell a large variety of frozen food products • Responsible for all customer interactions, including developing new customer, customer complaints, customer sequencing • Supervises a Facility Supervisor who is responsible for a depot and truck maintenance, product inventory control, inspections, safety compliance, material handling and efficiency of the warehouse operations • Selects, develops and motivates a sales and operations staff to meet plan • Monitors growth of sales and profit, maintains data and documentation essential to the operation of assigned sales company including implementation of cost control measures and maintenance of company assets • Implements and maintains all governmental and corporate programs and policies within the location
Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent • Years of Related Experience: 5-7 years related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Basic PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. o Proven sales and distribution management expertise in related industry o Solid communication and interpersonal skills o Demonstrated management and supervisory skills o Excellent driving record o Effective budget management o Thorough knowledge of company and group products, policies, processes, etc.
Must meet the Federal Department of Transportation eligibility requirements, including appropriate driver’s license and corresponding medical certification as a condition of employment for this position.
