Department Secretary-Treasurer for the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Michigan, a statewide patriotic organization headquartered in Lansing, MI.

Works with all levels and aspects of the organization, effectively communicating with members, committees, ensures that deadlines are met, organizes and manages supporting functions at conventions and conferences. Supervises department staff. Some travel with evening and weekend work is required.

Qualified applicants relate well to people are self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented individuals with strong written and verbal communication skills. Office management, knowledge of general office procedures and financial/accounting experience is required. Computer skills needed include Microsoft Office-Word and Excel, website development software and Peachtree Accounting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the Auxiliary, its organization, activities and endeavors along with membership or eligibility.

Applicants, a minimum of 2-3 years office management or supervisory experience with a related associates degree is required.

Applicants must work well in an office setting with few employees, minimum outside traffic.
A salaried position starting at $27,000 annually. Benefits include health insurance.
