Home Healthcare Aide Trainee
Live-In (Note: couple may apply for live-in position, one person to work with patient and the other may seek outside employment if so desired.)
If you are living a long distance away you must be willing to relocate to Silver Spring, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C.

Long-term care needed for elderly, easy-going, pleasant and appreciative grandmother living at home with her daughter and son in law. If this is the position for you, (minimum of one year), we will provide medical training for you with diabetic specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing and any other auxiliary personnel required. By the end of the year you will be qualified to take an exam for certification as a home health aide, if you wish. You will be provided with free room and board, including electricity, gas heat, central air conditioning, laundry privileges, large private deck —a private bedroom for yourself, a shared bathroom with Granny. Also included is the use of a fully equipped gym/workout room, and free cable TV with premium and movie channels. You will also receive a monthly stipend.

You will be responsible for Granny’s daily care through the training that you will receive. She is hard of hearing and has sleep apnea. She will need your assistance to sit and stand. Granny is an insulin dependent diabetic with osteoporosis, and requires daily exercise, and needs to walk several times a day with a walker.

Qualifications for this position
1) be legal
2) be able to read, write, and speak English well
3) be able to lift Granny sometimes if she can’t stand on her own (she weighs 125 lbs.)
4) have a valid driver’s license
5) be a nonsmoker
6) own a cell phone
7) enjoy living with a cat

After you fill out an application, and pass a background check, a contract is required.
