Description: Business Process Specialist
Location: Groton, CT
Duration: 1 year +

Participate and/or actively lead process development teams and the conversion of those processes to maintainable Policies, SOPs and Work Instructions including direct interface with functional area process steward. Participate in alignment of cross functional process activities with other process engineers.
COBIT/ ITIL/ Business Analyst/ six sigma certification required

Additional activities include:
· Leverage process improvement best practice techniques (i.e., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.); analyze and optimize current business processes and develop and implement new business processes.
· Identify opportunities for business process improvement and deliver results using process maps (MS Visio), industry documents and reports, and internal and external interviews.
· Conduct thorough current state analysis and future state roadmap of projects and prioritize project portfolio through detailed cost-benefit analysis.
· Manage the full process improvement lifecycle, from idea creation to execution.
· Research, benchmark and design best practices in process improvement (i.e., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
· Work closely with business unit process steward to successfully complete assigned projects. Present findings and recommendations to process steward and senior management.
· Promoting a process focused culture in which processes enable the successful achievement of IT business objectives
· Working in partnership with all impacted functional areas to ensure a successful start-up, execution and completion of process initiatives
· Assess situations (maturity of the process & the organization, the problem at hand, etc.) and determine the appropriate process tools & techniques to enable business results
· Define the problem and identify target improvements utilizing techniques such as voice of customer, data collection, etc
· Investigate and document current state
· Influence and execute the implementation of solutions includes overseeing pilot, integrating into business, understanding the culture change implications, etc.
· Facilitate stakeholder communications and approval processes e.g., tollgates
· Measure results and refine solutions


· 5-7 + years of professional business experience within large, complex business environments
· Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in process improvement and resultant methodologies
· Experience in leading process improvement efforts from inception to execution
· Knowledge of procedural (SOP) maintenance and control
· Knowledge of operational maturity models (optional)
· Excellent PC skills, including process mapping software (MS Visio, Casewise)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to influence internal client managers and process steward and communicate with individuals at all levels within client organization. Ability to work collaboratively with others and cope with ambiguity.
· Experience with IT project management and change management; ability to manage and complete multiple projects
· Demonstrated ability to facilitate group meetings
· Demonstrated ability to influence directly and indirectly
· Demonstrated ability to understand and bring together the “big picture”
· Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with introducing change into an organization
