DUTIES: • Determining implementation of new or modified manufacturing methods and/or equipment to reduce production costs, increase profits and improve efficiency. • Blend effective business acumen and engineering methods to increase production and profits. • Investigate and analyze production methods, processes, operations and/or equipment to determine manufacturing modifications that will increase production and reduce costs. • Coordinate and direct production & engineering areas: product development, process, maintenance, capital projects, automation, vision systems and quality improvements. • Compile pertinent cost, manpower efficiency, machine capability, space utilization, material handling, etc., data to support new manufacturing methods and/or equipment or modification recommendations. • Overseeing and coordination of production method modifications. • Guide and instruct employees assisting or involved in method changes. • Prepare and recommend new and revised operation procedures to maintain control, improve operations, and facilitate processing. • Coordinate new equipment installation, maintenance groups and start ups and releases to manufacturing. Practice TPM (Total preventive maintenance) • Implementation and coordination of LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools.
REQUIREMENTS: • 4 year Engineering degree. MBA or Business Acumen also desired. • Blended experience with engineering and operations-production, budgets, production engineering, maintenance engineering employee resources and training. • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing methods, planning and layout of production facilities and equipment and work flow, and cost control, and cost reduction techniques. • Ability to analyze production methods and procedures to determine economical and feasible manufacturing processes and methods. • Human relations skills in recommending new and revised manufacturing methods and processes, and in providing liaison between plant department and vendors to assure coordination of activities. • Experience with high volume consumer products manufacturing desired. • Experience in preparation of annual capital equipment budget. • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools. (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream) • Successful track record of leading people and project teams.
