Hello my name is Eve and I just moved to the Grandville area. I went to GVSU from 1999-2002. When I lived here before I taught piano lessons to a few students while I was in college. Currently I have been playing the piano for 24 years and teaching for 10 years. I also perform for weddings and receptions and have accompanied church services for many years. I currently have 13 students in the Okemos area where I teach piano once a week. I am looking to expand my teaching in the Grandville area and have students of all ages come to my home. I have an upright piano and will be teaching in the evenings, day TBA. I am starting a waiting list, and I will begin lessons in my home this September. I would love to talk to you about taking lessons and I take beginners and transfers. I recommend being 5 years old or older to start, but I will take younger on a case by case scenario. Lesson payment is once a month, at the beginning of every month. The cost is $16 a half hour, $25 for 45 minutes and $30 an hour. I recommend an hour for older students and 30-45 minutes for younger students. Books are required and I would be happy to assist you in picking out the appropriate ones but the cost will be up to the student. Cancellations must be made more than 24 hours in advance for a credit, or that lesson and payment will be forfeited. If canceled enough in advance, a make up will be arranged. Emergencies are the exception to this rule. I will go over my studio and attendance policy at the first lesson. I have also offered free monthly group sessions where all students come to my home to do a group activity. This entails each student playing for each other, theory, ear training and musical chairs and treats. This will start once I have enough students in this area. I also do 2 recitals a year, the December recital will be held in Okemos, the May recital location is TBA. Also I had a baby in July of this year. She is very well behaved but will be home with me during lessons. I will do my best to make this not be a distraction for either party but it is a good thing for all future students to know. Thanks for looking!!
