Pathways to Independence, a non-profit agency supporting adults with learning disabilities and associated developmental disorders through a group, recreation/leisure based social development program, is seeking a PART-TIME PROGRAM SPECIALIST. This team member will support and oversee participants from the City of St. Louis and those who utilize the agency’s private-pay option. The proper candidate will begin supporting 15-20 participants and develop the program among the service areas identified. Successful candidate will begin with a schedule of 8-12 hours per week both during the regular work day and during evenings and weekends. The position requires:

• A Bachelors Degree, preferably with a background in recreation and/or social services, or experience in the social service related field.
• Use of a vehicle and proof of insurance. Transporting program participants in agency vehicle is a requirement.
• Work schedule varies based on the needs of the program participants, but is primarily Tuesday-Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
• The successful completion and maintenance of Adult CPR and Standard First Aid and other trainings as specified in the agency Policy Manual.
• Submit to a criminal records check and driving records check.
• Energetic, creative individual with good communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of community resources and ability to use word processing programs on the computer. Ability to promote independence, community involvement, social skill enhancement, leadership skills and safety awareness for adults with disabilities.
