I love doing family histories! I've been doing genealogy research for people for about 15 years now. I started by working on my own family tree, and I've since taken several classes and workshops, as well, so I have quite a bit of experience. I've learned a great deal about the history of our country, in the process, and I like to throw in historical details when I can.
I can do all or part of your research for you, help point you in the right direction and give you ideas when you've hit a 'brick wall', or show you how to conduct your own research. I can also help with adoption searches.
If I do the research for you, I can tell you the origin of your family name/s, where your ancestors lived, what they did for a living, when they immigrated to the U.S, and much more. I don't just give you names and dates, but I also give you some insight into what was going on, historically, at that time, such as migration patterns, land opportunities, etc., and how that affected your ancestors' lives. In other words, I will write your family's "story."
I will also document the sources for all the information I find and provide you with copies, along with your family history and put it all in a binder or on a CD for you.
I charge either by the hour or a flat fee for certain services, such as your immediate family back to 1850. Usually the more information you can give me to go on, the cheaper it ends up being for you. My rates are pretty reasonable, and I'm happy to work with people on that. I can do the same thing for you as the big name companies for less than half the amount, so why not take advantage of my lower fees and save yourself some money?
I am a member of the National Genealogical Association and can provide references, as well as samples of my work, upon request.
Everyone should know their roots! During the month of July, I'm giving a 20% discount on all services, so why not give me a try? Please email me for specific details and rates. I'd love to work with you on your family history!
