The Board of Knowledge Academies is beginning the 12 month planning process for the launch of a college prep charter school for grades 5 - 12. We are searching for a Master Teacher (Dean of Teaching & Learning) to collaborate with the Board and the Executive Director in launching this new educational enterprise. See the strategic timeline.
The Dean will serve as a model classroom teacher and supervisor of all curriculum matters associated with the school.
S/he will serve as a co-founder and must have an intense passion for issues related to educating urban students.
The Dean must have experience with curriculum mapping, differentiated instruction, interpreting value-added achievement data, and teacher professional development. Fluency with instructional technology and digital media is preferred.
S/he must be an outside the box thinker with professional experience in classroom teaching and demonstrated experience improving the academic achievement outcomes of students from low-income communities. S/he will collaborate with the Executive Director and the Board in planning related to all issues impacting the school's curriculum.

Both the Executive Director and the Dean will serve as volunteers through the submission and approval of the application by the Board of Metro Nashville Public Schools.
Candidates will possess at least a B.A. / B.S., eligible to teach in Tennessee public schools.
The applicant should have at least 3 or more years experience in a progressively responsible role related to education.

Salary (Pending Charter School Application Approval): $50,000 to $52,500. Employees will receive a top-tier, comprehensive benefits package.
