FIRST ANNUAL “2010” WAKE FOREST DARLING KIDS CONTEST!
JAQS Entertainment, LLC is excited to announce the first annual 2010 Wake Forest Darling Kids Contest. The contest has been developed to allow local children to participate in a fun and exciting program that will give them an opportunity to demonstrate their individual talents and personalities on stage. It's open to toddlers to pre-teens (male & female) ages 2-12 years. Contestants will compete to win prizes and be crowned “Miss or Mr.” Wake Forest in four divisions: Tiny, Little, Petite and Junior. Grand prize winners per Division will each receive a trophy and Series EE Saving Bond valued from $100-$50; while second and third place winners will receive a trophy and other sponsored donated prizes. There is a nominal entry fee specific to each division category. The contest will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 5:00PM at Tuxedo Junction, 405 South Brooks Street, Wake Forest, NC. The contest is open to residents of Raleigh and surrounding cities. This is a growing community and we expect that this event will be very successful and expand over the next few years. The deadline to enter is August 15, 2010.
The contest objectives are to provide a safe and exciting opportunity for children to explore and exhibit their talents and promote an atmosphere of community involvement. It will allow contestants to present themselves before their family, friends and local business agencies who are sponsoring the contest. The sponsoring agencies are in the industry of identifying, fostering and developing talent in children in the categories of; dance, modeling, public speaking, singing and creative arts. They will also provide sponsorships of in-kind donations, prizes and volunteer support.
Participating in this contest will build self-esteem and further the potential talents of the contestants who may be interested in local opportunities designed to develop and nurture talented children. The contest will bring those interested parties together in a safe and secure environment. Of course, there is no obligation for parents to work with any of the businesses that act as sponsors. They are simply providing an introduction to parents with talented children of identified local trust-worthy agencies. The primary focus is to allow the contestants to have a great time, showcase their talents and be a part of a local community event. They have secured three prestigious judges consisting of local business owners who are in the talent, movie and arts and performing arts industries. Local press and other media outlets will be invited to cover the event.
AnNette T. Chavez, owner of JAQS Entertainment, states; “I’m excited about this project because Wake Forest does not have any contests for younger children outside of the private agencies and cheerleading competitions.” She adds, “I’m sure that we have some darling, talented younger children living in this community. If I’m able to be instrumental in facilitating opportunities to identify and nurture those talented children; then I would have meet the objectives of this project head-on. I’m looking forward to this first event and many others to come.”
