BACKGROUND: Sustainable Solutions Corporation was founded in 2001 by Tara and Tad Radzinski. It was created out of a vision to develop innovative solutions to save money and improve efficiency by integrating comprehensive sustainable business services, green design and low impact development into every project which would benefit our clients, their employees, the community, and the environment. We develop and design comprehensive systems to improve the overall sustainability of operations and products and assist our customers with integrating the results into their marketing strategy. We utilize our proven system to evaluate, prioritize and provide a plan that meets our customers’ time and budget objectives. We help them make sustainable change one step at a time at a pace the corporation can handle.

SCOPE OF POSITION: The Sustainability Specialist is responsible for managing sustainability projects (accurately, on time and on budget) for a variety of clients. This position requires a working knowledge of the strategies listed below:

Sustainability Assessment and Program Development:
A Sustainability Program is a collection of strategies for improving economic, environmental and social performance. These strategies reduce costs, decrease environmental impact, improve corporate image, and improve relationships with employees, customers and local community.
• Life Cycle Analysis and Materials Flow
• Carbon Footprint and Benchmarking
• Waste Minimization
• Water Efficiency Optimization
• Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programs
• Sustainability Reports

Green Product and Marketing Assistance:
Product and marketing analysis will ensure a full understanding of the green aspects of the product and its manufacturing. We will also establish which green standards and credits apply to a product, as well as evaluate products to verify sustainability claims
• Product Evaluation for Green Aspects
• Green Standards Evaluation
• Recycled Content Certifications
• Marketing Review

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct sustainability assessments on products, manufacturing processes and office facilities. These assessments involve site visits, material and process flow analysis, life cycle analysis, and evaluation of products to green building standards.
• Prepare action plans to improve the overall sustainability of the client’s products and operations and marketing strategies.
• Present findings to clients.
• Provide suggested marketing language and help in developing marketing materials.
• Develop client relationships.
• Conduct performance analysis for buildings for LEED and ENERGY STAR certification.
• Ensure that projects are managed and completed accurately, on time and on budget.
• Ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The successful candidate is passionate about sustainable development, as well as the business case for sustainability. This position requires the ability to be flexible, using your project management experience to manage many projects simultaneously. This candidate has excellent people skills and enjoys developing relationships with our clients. Must be able to work collaboratively with others and communicate clearly to peers and subcontractors to complete work that moves projects to completion. The successful candidate is proactive, well-organized and enjoys working in a team atmosphere. Taking initiative, follow-through, persistence and a strong research capability are key components to this position.

CRITICAL MEASUREMENT FOR SUCCESS WILL INCLUDE:
• Proven track record of significant project management experience with on-time on-budget results
• Deep knowledge of Principles of Sustainable Development and Green Building Standards
• Competent in AutoCAD, able to understand Process Flow Diagrams and other plant related drawings
• Knowledge of LEED and ENERGYSTAR certification
• Aptitude for intelligence gathering, research analysis, problem solving, and process modeling
• Ability to collect, manage and analyze data from clients

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of B.S. Degree in environmental science, engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline
• Excellent Customer Service Skills: Meet client’s needs, resolve issues, keep clients informed and satisfied
• Demonstrated experience in project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize numerous tasks effectively
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills with the ability to interface with clients at all organizational levels
• Data management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of Sustainability Assessments: Life Cycle Assessment and Materials Flow, Carbon Footprinting and Benchmarking, Waste Minimization, Water Efficiency Optimization, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programs, and Sustainability Reports
