Works in conjunction with other program coordinators under the guidance of the Executive Committee to successfully plan and implement AMIN events and initiatives. Duties will include, but are not limited to: arranging for event venue, food/catering, AV logistics, permits or licenses, arranging for group rates, transportation and more. Some of the annual events you will be responsible for are: AMIN 3rd Annual Ski Trip, AMIN 2nd Annual Winter Holiday Party, AMIN 2nd Annual Ring-in-the-New Year Party, and Breaking Barriers: Minority Women's Heath Educational Conference and more.
This is an unpaid position and the weekly hours will vary from 2 to 20 depending on your efficiency and on the events scheduled for that week. You will need to be available on evenings and weekends for most of the events. You will not necessarily need to be available during the 9am-5pm hours.
This position is ideal for an individual who has experience in event planning or who is extremely organized and would like to gain experience in event planning.
Qualifications: Candidates must be extremely organized, reliable, have experience working on a tight schedule, have good negotiating skills, and are able to lead/manage a staff of volunteers.
