I am an out of work mechanic with twenty years professional experience with bicycles and motorcycles (although I do not work on motorcycles at all any more). I work out of my home, to help support the bicycle community and keep myself in groceries. The local cycling community has given so much to me, this is my chance to give back. So much for motives.
A tune up or repair works like this: call me or e-mail and set an appointment. Come over with your bike, hang out, ask questions, learn how to do it yourself, and ride away. Turn around is immediate. I don't store bikes. I am centrally located close to four locally owned and independant shops I support for parts.
Labor is fifteen dollars per hour. All little kids bikes get free service. Your safety is my top priority, and I will do all I can to make sure your bike is safe to ride. A clean and tune is about three hours. This includes: Cleaning and adjusting the hubs, stearing head, bottom bracket, brakes, drive line, and controls, a basic truing of the wheels and a check of spoke tension. Lubing, tuning and fitting the bike to you completes the process. You, the customer, are invited to stay, watch, ask and learn (but b.y.o.b.). When we are done, you should be able to do it all yourself if you want.
More technical work, like bracket facing and bearring upgrades may be a little more expensive. Mountain bike suspension repair available, fork and shock seals and suspension tuning. Campy and SRAM repairs and tuning also available. A complete overhaul, top to bottom, may cost as much as sixty bucks.
I work on it all. High end to department store specials, I'll work on and improve 'em all !! Old bikes a speciality. I can also assemble, set up, and fit race bikes, touring, cross, road, and comuter bikes.
Please call between11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. Phone estimates are free, haha. Little problems are usually free to fix. On site estimates require a cup of fancy coffee.
