A Clinical laboratory in Oradell, NJ is seeking a full time employee in the Cytogenetics department, to handle the following tasks:
- Bench work for cell culturing, cell harvesting and slide making - FISH technique in all types of specimen (blood, bone marrow, fresh tissue, and paraffin embedded tissue). - Knowledge of chromosome analysis in blood samples and bone Marrow is an advantage. - Knowledge of FISH analysis of common hematological disorders an advantage. - Responsibilities also include house keeping tasks such as (reagents preparation, equipment maintenance and training of new technicians when necessary).
Requirements: - Minimum 2 years experience in Cytogenetics lab work - Strong computer skills, organizational and communication skills a must - Work environment is shift-based. Standard daily shift hours during normal business hours, plus one day on the weekend. Occasional infrequent night shifts may be required from time to time. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment. - A high level of reliability and responsibility, motivation and strong work ethics expected. - Strong ability to learn and troubleshoot.
