Bachelor’s degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the US. Department of Education; must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and hold such professional license or certificate as is required by the state.
Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist of which at least two (2) years must include clinical respiratory care; must have a minimum of two (2) years experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.
Under general supervision, responsible for organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development and general effectiveness of clinical experience for students enrolled in the Respiratory care program; coordinates and assists with public, professional, and/or community educational programs, including day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Therapy programs and clinical sites. Communicates class content to students so that learning occurs, skills are developed, and students are motivated to learn and achieve their educational objectives.
