Someone in radio ad sales will work out or other non printing related sales will work as long as it is an intangible sale (not equipment or hard goods) and consultative. The position of outside sales representative involves very heavy prospecting. They sell pressure sensitive labels/solutions to the durable goods market. We need someone who can do consultative selling similar to the sale in printing or a related industry such as packaging/folding cartons that have a long sale cycle of 18 months. They must be able to multitask as given the long sale cycle they have to be able to have many projects going at a time. Since they are selling a more technical solution, the candidate needs to have the ability to handle a technical application and be good at listening to uncover the issues so that the inside technical staff can recommend solutions.
Compensation is a base plus commissions based on their ability to close business. Candidate must be a good closer of the prospects they identify as new customers. They pay a commission of 4% on sales so someone who can work very hard and hit the ground running can see a slight increase in compensation in perhaps 9 to 12 months but given the long sale cycle, it takes 18 months to really reach beyond the base.
Candidate will receive a travel expense reimbursement and basic car allowance. The candidate must be able to cover at least an entire state, possibly two states so travel will be 50%.
