Local Cooks Welcome!

So you think you make great chili? Is your secret ingredient up for a challenge? Attendees at the 7th Annual Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest Local’s Competition are ready to find out! You and other cooks will battle it out for the honored title of “Local Chili Head Winner.” The first place winner will be awarded a $200 cash prize and an original Snowmass trophy. Chili Pepper prizes will also be awarded to 2nd and 3rd place winners.

New this year, the Local Chili Cook-off will take place as part of the festival activities on Saturday, June 5th at 3:00pm! Participating as a cook in the People’s Choice Chili Tasting will be very exciting and allows you to be a part of the greater festival experience.

Wondering about Requirements?
All cooks in the competition are required to make a minimum of 5 gallons of chili. Hint: the more chili you make, the more people taste, the more votes you may get, the better your chance of winning!
The type of chili you make is up to you and your imagination; there are no official rules other than ensuring safe and clean cooking techniques are used.
The People’s Choice Chili Tasting and Voting begins at 3:00 pm; please do not allow the public to taste your chili samples until that official time.
Please bring a sign with the name of your chili and the chef for voters to identify your entry.
In order to sign-up as a local cook, please e-mail Chelsey your name, phone number, address, and credit card number. A credit card number is required as ransom for Pepper & Brew Fest weekend Party Passes you’ll receive to use in advance. Any no-shows will be charged for the weekend Party Pass.

What are the Spicy Benefits of Being a Local Chili Cook?
You’ll receive two FREE PARTY PASSES for the entire weekend’s festivities. This pass provides access to the Pepper Hill festival grounds where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy microbrew sampling & grand tasting, ICS chili competition chili tasting, and concerts.
