Job Description:

The Sales Representative uses their sales techniques, personality and industry knowledge to facilitate the sales cycle. This includes:
- Prospecting potential accounts for freight needs
- Building new relationships with shippers located anywhere in the USA and Canada
- Lead generation
- Rate Proposals for new freight lanes
- Solidifying new business
The sales Representative will negotiate and establish new customer accounts.


-Identify shippers for new and existing business opportunities and negotiate rates that offer the highest return to Quarterback Transportation without compromising service.
-Work with the operations team to develop, contract, negotiate and maintain strong relationships with shippers.
-Manage the process for effectively introducing new shippers to Quarterback.

Job Requirements:

Sound understanding of sales with the ability to negotiate for customer/shipper contracts. Strong leadership skills and the ability to make effective decisions based on corporate policies and business environment conditions are required. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to customers as well as branch and corporate personnel. A strong business acumen with the ability to understand and manage the dynamics of P&L. Ability to lead, motivate, develop and direct personnel toward achievement of a common goal. Must have exceptional people management and strong leadership skills, coupled with excellent customer focus and communication skills (both verbal and written).


College/University degree
Transportation environment experience is a plus
1-2 years of sales experience
Knowledge and use of Excel and other standard PC programs
Able to build solid working relationships with all departments and numerous outside contacts
