It is very important, during this time in need, that we join forces within the community and help one another. I have come up with a way to help those who have completely lost everything due to the flooding, but I need your help.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
The idea is to fill a bag with various items that people use daily. Such items are toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, washcloths, comb, brush, first aid kit, lip balm, pocket tissue, mouthwash, shampoo and conditioner, Bible, socks, underwear, feminine products, shaving cream, razors, hand sanitizer, and lotion.
You can even get your kids involved to create a bag for the other kids. Items to include are the appropriate items listed above including coloring books with crayons or any activity/craft book, children’s Bible.
If you are unable to purchase items but would still like to participate, a donation of $20 would cover the cost of a bag. Please make checks payable to “The Salvation Army”. A receipt will be given for all monetary donations. 100% of all donations collected will be donated to the local Salvation Army relief center.
All bags/donations will be collected on Saturday, May 8, 2010 between the hours of 11 am to 3 pm. The location will be in the parking lot in front of Urban Active on Old Hickory Blvd and Nolensville Rd. in Nashville, TN.
Thank you in advance for your help and making a difference in our community.
