Job Description Performs the evolution of each component throughout the system life cycle to ensure that, when combined, the components will form a system that meets all specified functional requirements, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform the translate of customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Performs planning, IV&V, cost and risk management. Skills • Demonstrated leadership in developing systems. • Must have significant experience in core systems engineering functions including requirements analysis, specification generation, system design trades, system integration, field testing and verification. • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and with a small team to analyze complex engineering requirements, translating them into a viable/optimal design. • Knowledge of generating component specifications and to perform make vs. buy analysis. • Must have significant experience with the design, development, integration, and testing/validation of electronic systems such as Communications systems. • Must have extensive experience with integrating electronic systems on both surface, water and airborne platforms. • Knowledge of coordinating the design efforts of functional engineering teams from multiple locations to ensure an integrated system that meets overall requirements. • Single point technical contact to customers and customer technical teams. • Strong background in solid state technology. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • DOD experience. • Design for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure that the design of all components optimizes the manufacturing process. • Manage and provide technical direction to designers, engineers, suppliers, and support personnel. • Systems Architecture definition. • Systems and software modeling. • Risk and opportunity management. • Program planning and working knowledge of earned value management system (EVMS). • Preparation and Delivery of program briefings (e.g., PDR, CDR).
A Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering field such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or software engineering with a minimum of twenty (14) years relevant experience is required.
