Wages: Base + commission, potentially $70 – 80k annually
Founded in 1949, stable and busy - Manufacturing Company is one of the largest custom precision parts machining companies in the Pacific Northwest. Our advanced equipment, high technology QA and Engineering capabilities, and experienced technical team allow us to produce highly complex parts for a wide range of industries. We are currently hiring for the position of Business Development Manager. This role will be based in a suburb of Portland, OR office but will spend a majority of the time working outside the office sourcing new business for our well knows business. This position will require a focused individual who is accustomed to results based sales culture and has the drive to succeed in a competitive marketplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Achieve sales goals and forecasts, as established by the department and the organization. • Relentlessly identifying new customers and ways to close sales with them. • Research and identify new contacts within each segment to identify stakeholders. • Obtain orders, and maintain ongoing customer contact to ensure future sales. • Keeps the Director of Sales & Marketing informed by submitting activity and results logs & reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses. • Conducting quarterly business reviews, utilizing action plans and monitoring performance metrics on a weekly basis. • Review completed jobs for variations in component costing. • Monitors sales orders to ensure costs, materials lists and delivery schedules meets customer specifications and deadlines. • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: • Proven sales track record of opening doors and closing sales • Minimum 5 years experience in sales of machined parts or manufactured products • Bachelors Degree: engineering or business administration highly recommended • Strong computer skills - Internet research, MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) • Motivated self starter, highly organized & professional • Superior verbal and written communication • Commitment to meeting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines • RFP, RFQ & bid process skills with the following industries: aerospace, electronics, medical/dental, sporting goods, transportation. • Basic knowledge of print reading, part interpretation and GD&T OTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION: * Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test. * Reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing of the company.
