Latinos Unidos, a student organization at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, is hosting its Fifth Annual Latino Heritage Symposium which will be focusing on immigration.

The symposium entitled Immigration: Realities of a Controversial Struggle will take place on April 10, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

A series of lectures and workshops will be held in order to enlighten and educate students and the community over the intricacies of this topic. The symposium will also include a screening of “The 800 Mile Wall” directed by Juan Carlos Frey, which depicts the problems related to the recent border wall construction. In the last several years, immigration has become a pressing matter not only for this country, but for the Latino culture as well.

We look forward to hearing from you in the near future
