POSITION: CERTIFIED (and / or LICENSED) ALCOHOL & DRUG COUNSELOR
DEPARTMENT: LVIC ADULT OUTPATIENT TREATMENT PROGRAM
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: CLINICAL MANAGER
QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency (SAPTA) educational requirements for CADC certification in the state of Nevada.
a. Complete full assessment/evaluation of each client and prepare a DSM IV TR, 5 Axis diagnosis and treatment plan using SNAMHS diagnosis where appropriate and necessary. b. Maintain a client file on each client with timely clinical progress and group notes as mandated by SAPTA using NHIPPS data base program. c. Facilitate treatment groups and individual counseling with clients. d. Participate and /or facilitate clients’ case with case manager and clinical staff. e. Prepare an aftercare treatment plan for each client that completes treatment. f. Perform other program related duties as assigned. g. Participate in training and supervision when required. h. Maintain confidentiality of client or participant services and records, including client information transmitted via fax and/or reports generated on computers. i. Maintain a full client case load.
1. Requires Nevada Substance Abuse and Prevention Treatment Agency certification. 2. Experience in the facilitation of substance abuse therapy groups. 3. Experience in individual counseling. 4. Attend trainings, seminars and workshops for continued educational credits (CEUs). 5. Experience, skills and knowledge to establish and maintain partnerships with other service providers.
