Mentors, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the graduation and success rates of Washington, DC's public high school students by pairing them with caring, adult volunteers in structured and enriched mentoring relationships which promote their academic and career development. Our goal is to ensure that every one of our students graduates from high school ready to transition into meaningful work or higher education.
We provide access to enrichment opportunities in college preparation, career exploration, community service, and life skills development. Graduating seniors are eligible for scholarships and all students and their mentors enjoy free or low-cost tickets to local sports events, museums, concerts and other cultural events.
Mentors, Inc. seeks adult volunteers who are willing to commit to mentoring a student in a Washington DC public high school for at least one year, committing a minimum of 5 hours a month to that student, and keeping in regular contact with that student between meeting.
