Guides needed to lead people on Phoenix area mountain trails on an on-call basis. Hikes are usually 3-4 hours, depending on the trail and stamina of those hiking. There's a hike that we call Hike to the Peak which is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. All guided hikes range from beginner to intermediate to well experienced. Interested people should be able to lead a tour with all three levels of endurance. We want to lead groups twice daily, once in the morning & then after lunch time. CPR/First Aid certified preferred. Being familiar with the most of the popular trails on South Mountain, Piestewa Peak, Camelback, McDowell, Papago, Superstitions, & Usery in Maricopa County is ideal. You should enjoy the opportunity of showing visitors around while being extremely safety conscious for their well being. Educating people is very important. You'll need to point out our desert flora and fauna while sharing some local history with those in the group. The more you know, the more fun everyone will have. A desert trivia game is played while hiking making it a great, fun filled experience for everyone, young and old. We stress that hiking is an eco-friendly activity. If you have a passion for hiking and love meeting new people, have transportation to the tails, call us at 800 95-TEACH (800 958-3224) and follow the instructions given. We look forward to speaking with you soon. Oh…ask for Grace, please.
