I have been working on trying to give Fort Wayne, IN a Pet Cemetery.
I have looked into Laws, Regulations, Zoning and have scheduled an Appointment to meet with a Funeral Home, for cremation costs.
I only want serious people to respond to this add. I do not tolerate scams and this is NOT a scam. I am not playing games with anyone. All I want is a place to give pets a rest here in our community!
There are so many animal lovers out there and I swear to you that I am for real about this. I know that cremation is costly, and not to have the one friend you loved and shared your years with not to be close.
As of March 09, 2010, I lost one of my best friends, His name was Jack, and he was a 20 year old Jack Russell. He was everything to me and I had to cremate him. I still have yet to get his ashes and it cost me $200.This does not always include putting your dog down, or purchasing an urn to put your pets ashes in. Until you are in this situation you will not know and then you will be overwhelmed.
For low income families this is a lot of money and with the economy today too can put a struggle on anyone.
My husband was laid off over one year ago, and we have four kids. I work part time as a Sub Teacher and very part time for a local company. We are on a limited income and yet I still came up with the cash to make sure my buddy came back to me. Statistics state that families will put themselves in debt to care for a sick animal, or to even put an animal to sleep. These stastistics are not wrong. Look at what I did! I made sacrifices, so my dog's body would not be dumped somewhere unknown.
I also, rent my home and because of this, if I ever decide to move, I did not want to bury my little buddy in the back yard and then have to leave him behind. Then according to regulations an animal must be buried a certain depth, and that is a lot of hard work for anyone especially the elderly.
After my buddy passed I found out that the closest pet resting place is in Ossian, IN, and that is about half an hour from Fort Wayne, IN one way. I know that may not be far to some but in the winter time it is and when you have a limited income as well.
That is why I wish to do this for our community. The gentleman I talked with at the zoning department said to call him once I have a piece of land in mind and he will let me know if it is promising to start. He see's that I am committed to doing this and he feels that we really do need one here.
If you are like me, then you want your animals remains close. I know I can make that happen, but I am in need of some help to make it happen.
I want to get this done and open by mid summer and to do so, I need someone with a really big heart, and someone that wants a good tax deduction. I promise to make it affordable and beautiful. I will take in all domestic animals.
Someday, you may think of me after you lose a pet that is dear to you, and when you do, you will have the comfort of knowing that a pet cemetery is close and it will not cost you an arm and two legs to come to me.
I am hoping to cut costs as much as possible, so that I can make it affordable to the community. Donations to help with this are fine as well, and would help out, but we would just prefer land to get it started. Once we know we have the land then we will look into fence, equipment and other costs. We may even throw a big fundraiser to get the items needed to start it, but the land is our first step. This is where it starts!
