Fairfax County Park Authority is pleased to invite you to be a part of an award-winning adapted aquatics volunteer program. This program has been incredibly successful since the 1970ís because of volunteers and there continued support. We are looking forward to having you join our team.
The volunteers are 15 years of age (13 or 14 years old with an adult volunteering with them)or older who will be working with people of all ages who have learning, physical, mental, emotional, and/or sensory disabilities. Volunteers receive training and work one on one with students in a class setting under the guidance of an Adapted Aquatics Instructor, helping them reach their full potential in a recreational swimming and water by exercise program. The benefits of volunteering are many, including earning free usage of the RECenter facilities and the opportunity to take free classes; while making the difference in someoneís life.
