Enter and receive Purchase Orders in QuickBooks with a high degree of accuracy. Generate detailed records of outstanding orders and detailed labor and material reports by job in QuickBooks. Contact vendors by telephone, fax, or email to obtain quotations on price, terms, and delivery. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Negotiate effectively and politely with vendors for best price and delivery. Research and develop new, expanded, or alternative sources of supply. Perform a variety of clerical duties to ensure that merchandise, supplies, and equipment are shipped on schedule by vendors. Take corrective action to expedite late, incomplete, or defective deliveries. Ensure timely communication with department heads on status of purchases and related purchasing activities. Verify delivery of purchased items. Keep daily and weekly time records for employees. Obtain shipping quotes and arrange transportation and delivery, including documents, for UPS, FedEx, and freight. And any other duties assigned. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and emailing. (Knowledge of Microsoft Project would be a plus.) Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and operate standard office equipment. Employees occasionally lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
