Family Services Mental Health, a department of the Downtown Seattle YMCA, is seeking a professional, experienced, motivated, Foster Home Licensor.
The general function of the Foster Home Licensor: Recruits and licenses treatment foster parents. Ensures all foster parents meet or exceed minimum licensing standards for foster care providers, and meet or exceed program standards of care. Monitors foster parents for ongoing compliance with licensing and program standards.
Major job functions of the Licensor, include: 1. Licenses potential foster homes and relicenses currently contracted foster homes. 2. Recruits treatment foster parents through diverse advertising and community networking. Ensures prospective foster parents meet YMCA desire to provide inclusive, professional, collegial and effective programming. 3. Creates, revises and distributes marketing materials for diverse foster home recruitment. 4. Assess and screen foster parent applicants through in-person interviews and home visits and facilitates group interviews. 5. Completes initial orientation of new foster parents during the licensing process. 6. Monitors foster homes and ensures that state and federal licensing requirements are met. Ensures foster parent files have current documentation. 7. In all interactions with foster parents, remains solution-focused to ensure cohesive, effective teaming. 8. Assists treatment foster parents in developing exceptional cost plans for foster youth transitioning to Long Term Foster Care. 9. Promptly responds to all DSHS, CPS and DLR inquiries and investigations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting. 10. Maintains knowledge of current licensing standards and consults with staff as needed. Completes annual health and safety outreach and review of each foster family. 11. Maintains knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, needs, and youth population served. 12. Participate in the annual Partners With Youth annual campaign, raising money to help fund programs for youth and families in need. 13. Trained in and familiar with the recovery model to assist families focus on strengths, gain client voice and partner with the youth in their home and their clinical teams.
Required experience and know how: 1. Bachelorís degree in social work or related field. MSW or Masters Degree preferred. 2. Two or more years experience in foster care field. Experience in recruitment and licensing preferred. 3. One or more years experience in marketing and/or community outreach. 4. Knowledge of relevant Washington Administrative Codes. 5. Ability to work in a team management approach. 6. Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful. 7. Current state approved CPR, first aid certifications required within 30 days of hire. 8. Ability to visit current and prospective foster homes. (Proof of valid driverís license and adequate vehicle insurance required.)
Starting salary range: $41,928-52,410 annually plus excellent benefits including: employer paid medical, dental, life insurance; generous paid time off; employer paid 12% retirement after 2 years of full-time service; family YMCA membership.
