Bridge Lake Point Waunona (BLW) Neighborhood Center’s mission is to work with community members and organizations to provide programming for youth, families, adults, and seniors on the south side of Madison. These programs empower community residents by developing client-driven services and programs that respond to the changing needs, strengths, and diversity of the community. Programming for children and youth include a bilingual preschool aged program, elementary after school program and summer camp, Girl Neighborhood Power, and Teen Program with middle and high school components.

Position Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the Children’s Program including the after school program and summer camp.
• Supervise and provide program support for preschool aged program.
• Support middle and high school programming including possible direct service 1-2 evenings a week.
• Manage youth programs building including coordinating maintenance, fire/tornado procedures, opening/closing procedures, maintaining security of the building, and scheduling facility use groups.
• Be a member of the center’s management team in promoting center programs and events, creating new center initiatives, and focusing on the future vision for the center.
• Supervise youth workers, interns, AmeriCorps volunteers, and volunteers.
• Maintain program expectations, procedures, and demonstrate leadership in all areas of position.
• Build relationships with participants’ families.
• Build and enhance partnerships with schools, maintaining regular communication with participants’ teachers, the school social worker, and other relevant staff.
• Build and maintain partnerships with collaborative organizations.
• Maintain daily and weekly written records, monitor program goals, and complete program reports.
• Research funding opportunities and write grants.

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience coordinating a program.
• Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
• Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with families, schools, and organizations.
• Strong time management skills and ability to delegate tasks.
• Demonstrates leadership skills and ability to facilitate a positive team environment.
• Experience in writing reports and grants, or professional writing skills.
• Experience working with children, youth, and families in a community setting desired.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills a plus.

Hours: Fulltime Professional Position
Salary: $28,000 - $31,000 plus competitive benefit package
