Here is a Spessartite Garnet known as the Mandarin Garnet because of the color. Most people think the garnet comes in the rust-red color, but the garnet comes in the rusty red, orange, yellowish green to a dark green and in the last few years they found a color change garnet that turns to blue. This color change blue is very rare and only found in a small deposit on the island of Madagascar. The garnet is single refractive like a diamond so they have a strong fire inside the gem like diamonds. This garnet measures: 7.53 x 8.16mm cut in a fancy pear shape, it weights: 1.91 carats, the clarity is: VVS1, garnet is a 7 1/2 on the hardness scale, single refractive with a 1.81 on the refractive index. Some of the best Mandarin garnets have been found in Namibia, Africa. This gem also come out of the Namibia mines. I was thinking about using this gem and make a ring for my wife with baguette diamonds around the garnet. My wife said she has enough rings and wouldn't wear it enough to make it worth it so I didn't. We have 100's of gems, call me if your looking for a gem we will most likely have it.
We give a seven (7) day inspection period. I can put this beautiful gem in jewelry with a matching set of earrings.
